I just dropped my car off at the Dealership and

They made me sign a form stating that I will be charged a $77.00 diagnostic fee if all they have to do is make an adjustment and not replace a part.

I complained and spoke to a higher up but she still made me sign it.

This didn't occur the last time I took my car in.

BTW, I've been hearing a kind of clunk noise in the mornings coming from the front end area driving slowly through the parking lot and also am hearing a whirring type noise which reminds me of wheel bearings about to go bad.

I'm getting the oil change done and hopefully the recall done on the crank sensors.

you didn't have to sign it... you could have left.

next time you need to make SURE they have to replace a part, if you know what I mean

that seems about right to me. they charge "minimum one hour labour". if they look and find nothing wrong they still charge for their time because the person could have been working on another car.

Wow, what a ripoff! I've never had that happen to me at any of the 3 Nissan dealers I've been to around here. You should've tried another dealer -- nothing to lose.

Well they said if I didn't sign for it they wouldn't look at my car.

I bet a hundred bucks I'll get stuck with the fee.

If so I will not be too kind when I fill out the customer service score sheet.

i was not charged a penny when I asked my dealership to check an SES light (due to gas cap) they resetted it-
while my car was in to get rotors resurfaced and bearing/hub replaced under warranty.....all i payed was $26 for an oil change.....now thats alot of work
by a service dept for $25.....and this is not the place where i bought my car..

In other words...some dealerships are strait up thieves.....specially if you purchased the car from them....

North Texas Nissan in Denton.

And they just called and of course they couldn't duplicate the noise or the steering wheel vibration I get when I come to a complete stop!!

This ticks me off considering I'm about to hit 36k on the odo.

North Texas Nissan Sucks! I live in Denton and took my car there for the first time last weekend and it will be the last. I took it for an o2 sensor and the service advisor misquoted me by $80. He "forgot" about the reflash. I used to deal with a local Gm dealer and they misquoted my twice but did the work at the quoted price. North Texas Nissan would not compromise at all. Next time I need something done I am going to try Bankston in Lewisville. Anyone in the Dallas area have a GOOD Nissan dealer?

They can charge you for the O2 sensors, but unless you have 80K miles or more on your car, the ECU flash should have been free -- it's covered by the Fed emissions warranty. If they don't refund your $80, call Nissan Consumer Affairs at 1-800-NISSAN1 and politely complain. If that doesn't work, call the EPA. The number is in your warranty book.

Unfortunately I work in Denton so I take it there for convenience. No more though, I will be taking it to Lewisville dealer from now on.
