Well I dont own a Maxima.
But I am interested in knowing the HP and TQ numbers that the manual trans can hold.
Who here is pushing high WHP #s with a manual?
By high I am thinking around 300 FWHP.
I am more worried about high TQ (low RPM) so a supercharged Maxima would probably be best to talk about.

Also how much does a 5th gen Maxima weigh?

 

Don't know anything about high front wheel hp () but I can tell you that the 5th gen maxima weighs between 3200 and 3300 pounds depending on the model.

 

I know of a 4th genner who's pushing over 300 WHP I believe, on the 5-speed manual tranny (4th gen 5speed is just about identical to the 5th gen's 5speed I think)
Just get a decent stage 1 clutch for it and I think it should be fine...

 

OK now to why I want to know this info
I have a 2000 Chevy Impala and am pushing close to if not over 300WHP (havnt had it dyno'd sence last mods). There is no GM FWD standard tranny that'll handle that kind of power in a heavy car (3500#s). So I'm looking elsewhere. I know it would be a pain to get a Nissan tranny in my Impala but with a custom adapter and some luck.. I've had plenty of that so far.. you never know. Im just looking for my options right now.

Does anyone know of where I can get some technical info on the 5spd tranny? Such as gear ratios, bolt pattern and general dimentions? I would love if someone was semi-local to me with one out of a car.
