This winter was quite harsh.. I have these all season floor mats, that have small walls on the sides.. needless to say, after driving a lot, coming in and out of the car with dirty boots from dirt and snow.. i had puddles of dirt water forming there and it would spill over onto the carpet..



To make a long story short.. I now have a large mud build up on my carpet, which is still wet and has probably been wet for months. Carpet didn't dry with the rubber mat on top of it. Some of the water dried up but now i have a BLACK spot, that is literally like taking mud, dilluting it, stomping it into the carpet and letting it sit that way for months and saturate deep inside of it...


I should have taken better care with it.. but now i don't know how to clean this mess up.

It's going to rot my carpets away.. it's finally warm enough for me to do some work on the car.

have your carpets steam cleaned professionally. that should take care of the creatures in the carpet

 

Yup, or you could rent a heated water extractor and do it yourself also.
