cheap mods, performance or just looks

i just got a great 96 maxima se. its an amazing car for the money and has everything i need. i was wondering what kind of mods i could put on it to improve performance or even interior styling. i want the biggest bang for the buck. i just want something to make the car even faster or just make it look original. its cool to have a good car, but its really sweet to make it custom. whatever, im sure you guys have tried it all, anything would help really.
appreciate it

Id go so far as to say a Y-pipe lessens strain on the engine...
