dash kit over wood on GLE
i did this a couple months ago. if you dont want the wood to show you need to spray paint the parts that show around the dash kit pieces. this includes the edges of the window switches, shifter trim, ashtray, etc. here are some pics

as you can see, the paint wore off a little on the inside of my driver window switch. i would suggest using a coat or two of clearcoat so that wont happen.
good luck

it shouldnt be any harder to do with a chrome kit than any other. as far as i know, all of the dash kits sold for 95-99 maximas are non-molded
here is what my stock dash looked like. the window switches were also wood

Or is it a Nissan Part you can order ? Just those 2 pieces to match what is already there is all I need !
no oem parts. thats why people buy whole new kits. theres a place that will coat the pieces similar to how the factory does, but i'm not sure how well it will match. if your interested i'll track it down.
