T4/T04B Turbo Shopping.....

Ok, I am turbo shopping for a fellow Maxima guy here in the ATL.

We are looking at a set of T4/T04B turbos. They have either the 60-1 trim or the H-trim on the compressor housings. The 60-1 compressors have a .70 A/R and the H-trim has a .60 A/R. The H-trim compressor flows about 53 lbs/min and the 60-1 flows 60 lbs/min. Because of the near $200 price difference, we are considering the H-trim because it is a smaller A/R, more compatible for the 3.0L in the Maxima. What do you all think?

Ok, and onto the exhaust housings. He has, for any of the choices above, a .58, .69, and .84 A/R P-trim wheel turbine housings. In regards to Mardi's recent posts, I know that the .84 is WAY too large and we won't see boost until high into the RPMS. I am kind of lost here because even though I personally have a T4/T04E with a .81 turbine, mine is a Ball-bearing Big shaft, this is not, it is a regular T4 Turbo. So, basically my question is, which of the two, the .58 or the .69 A/R, is the "more rounded" off better version for our car, for either the track or street. Of course, the .58 is better for the street, and the .69 is better for the track, but which is the better sacrifice of the two?

Thanks all. I do know a little about the turbos, but since it has been SO LONG since I have had to search for one, I am kinda lost on this one. Thanks.

I'd stay away from a T04B, a TO4E is much newer design and has superior efficiency.

I'd stick with an A/R in the middle, ie away from extreme ends of the range, since most wheels are designed to work with middle size housing A/Rs.

Sorry, I'm not much help on A/Rs.

Ice, thanks for the response.

Yeah, I do know that the T04Es are much better, by two fold, but they have been on back order for over 6 months and they have no sign of relief in the newar future. So, we are just getting this for now, and then upgrade later...

why not go with the same size turbine we have .81 I think it is. He can use the gain feature on the EBC to spool it up much faster, cant he? I mean look at our ****, we knock gain below 52% and it blows off excess the complete time not letting us boost immediately.
