Crank Sensor recallers, plz step in

I just got the letter regarding the crank position sensor recall. Well, i drive an 03 se 6-spd, but the car runs perfectly fine. I've even had the ur udp for a few months, and she's still smooth. I've never had an SES light, almost 18k miles, frankencar intake for most of them and never a blown MAF. If i go for this recall, will they chew me out if they see the aftermarket pulley? Thanks in advance.

Swap it with the stock airbox, bring it in and hope for the best.

It is a RECALL, so I would not put it off any longer, you are running the risk of being stranded.
I got mine done a coupkle of months ago (but just got a letter last week), no symptoms of a problem here either before work was done. It only takes about an hour for them to do it. As far as the mods, call to set up an appointment and ask the dealer if they care about a custom intake or the UDP and see what they say.

this recall was mainly for the altima....but nissan just went ahead and did a buttload of their cars to cover their asses...don't worry about the pulley or the intake...there is nothing they can do..it is a recall!!!

I had no problems but got mine done when I had my data dots done. They didn't say anything about my Stillen air filter.

Get it done. It's free. They should say nothing about your intake...they said nothing about mine.

Apples and oranges. They issued a voluntary recall. This is not a warranty claim, so they can't deny service.

It'd be different if you went in requesting warranty work on the powertrain lets say, because of a blown motor, and then had the ball$ to go in there with all your bolt-ons, that you will catch hell from them, and possibly get warranty work denied...

Wrong, it's for any vehicle that uses the same Hitachi sensor (which were manufactured improperly).

i had the datadot recall done at a certain dealership, and they said nothing about my intake. in fact, some of the techs complimented me on the stuff i did (exhaust, drop)... if anything, i'll most likely go back to the same place since they were pretty cool and even bought me breakfast while i was there. thanks for the input, guys.

It helped on your top end?? Honestly i don't even know what they replaced, what is a crank sensor?

My recall only took a half hour almost makes me think, if they did it right.

I just had my crank position sensor and transverse link pin replace under
recall. They didn't replace my cam sensor that came in as a package with
the crank position sensor. I had my K&N filter in and UDP and they didn't
have any problems with either. My car was perfectly fine when I took it in.
Now I notice the car runs alot better after the replacement. Not that it ran
worse before. Just a noticeable improvement. Good luck....

That is not true. This recall applies to all the vehicle with vq engine as well
as sentra. You can look up the recall items on this url.

Take this link and print out the documents and present it to the Nissan Dealership.
They really can't dispute it. Once you give them your vin number look over their
shoulders onto the computer screens to see for yourself that your car does
qualify. It'll keep them honest. Good luck

I had one printed but I never had to show it to my dealer. I just callled them to make an appointment. Some dealers care more about their customers I reckon.
