ok it is expensive because the key has the chip so you pay for that and to program that key.
you may be able to get the key cheap online somewhere but the dealer will have to program it.

Every Nissan car has a key part # according to VIN #, every key has a KeyCode.
If its the wrong key, and you program it, you've just wasted cost of a key + cutting the key, and your car goes into "LockOut" mode. At that point the original key won't even start your car. Disconnect the battery all night long reconnect it. The "LockOut" mode has erased the programming of the Keys, and you've reset SMART vehicle entrance system, and CONSULT II will even show how many attempts were made to start.(I've gotten a few laughs.)
See you at the dealership.

$47 for key + cut, $44.50 for programming.
BTW that seller is totally wrong, that key won't start any car after 2002, not even 99. Either 2000 or 2001 depending on part #. May even be Valet key, which a blank is $15 anyway.

The funny thing about these keys is I see now that every dealer trys to sell the keys at different prices. I just had some keys made and each key with programming came to 47.50. So why is everyone else paying over a $100
