This is what happens when Potenzas go bad...

without mentioning names, this is what happened to my friend and fellow 3.5 crew member (who is on the org) when sh!tty a$$ potenzas come in contact with rain-resulting in a 180 degree spin into a wall...

guys, please if you can afford to switch your potenzas do so, so you don't become another total-out like he did...

FYI, he is fine but both the airbags exploded and as you can see-it's pretty much a wrap for the 03 maxima....

And for those of you who STILL haven't listened to many of us (for years now), take a look here...

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/hpas.jsp

Pretty pathetic showing, and I DO think they were getting off light on the wet category.

Bury them, burn them, make tree swings out of them, just DON'T drive on them!!!

That really freaks me out...this weekend I'm taking off the protenzas....

I have noticed too myself that in wet I tend to slip more on turns. I think we need to speak out and maybe get a recall on tires

No prob its never good for this to happen to anyone. No doubt its totalled especially if the rear is also damaged. Only good thing is no other cars were involved and he wasn't injured.

my opinion...this will be hard to win. i dont know alot about this but you have to prove that they KNEW they were making a bad product. you have to prove that they are at fault. they probably are but it has to be proven!

well i just looked at their website and they do claim this so.....
"High performance handling combined with all-season tractionTread design features interlocking triangulated blocks and circumferential grooves which provide excellent wet, dry and snow traction."

they are a big corporation with good lawyers, im sure they would pull the whole "it is the drivers fault. they were driving to fast for the conditions" crap

Its amazing........

Its amazing that one model potenza can be so bad and another so good . I couldent be happier with my potenza RE950 they are the best tires i have ever owned after a couple of tests and trial & error I have found that 36 psi in the front and 33psi in the rear is optimal the ride is great wet handleing superb. Dry traction incredible , snow it leaves a little to be desired but hey what can you expect. Any body looking for great potenzas get the RE950 tires.

Problem is that Acura is customer oriented and would go that extra mile for owners. Nissan just wants cars sold.

That's really bad Heath. It hurts me to see a Max like that, so sad. It shocking that your bud wasn't seriously hurt, that's a $10K+ impact.

Is there any parting taking place on that car??

As far as a class-action lawsuit, you will need cooperation from all the parties making a claim, and too often these threads become a big p issing contest between people who have agendas.

I dont see it getting off the ground, and if it does, I can't see any atty (unless they run their own firm/practice) trying to take on Bridgestone's team of atty's on this matter.

The burden of proof would be on the plaintiffs (all the Max owners who had a wreck because of shoddy tire) to prove negligence on the part of Bridgestone...Good luck. Bridgestone has court-proven defenses for many claims customers make, they've been through it before.

The Maxima community is pretty small, the 5th gen community is even smaller, and the 5th gen guys who have a had a wreck because of the RE92 is smaller still. Just my .02.

Don't forget to sue the designer of Max's suspension system. And while you're at it, the steering wheel is sometime a little slippery, so be sure to get the company that makes those.

I'm sure the lawyers are going to have a good laugh over this one. If there was a lawsuit against a tire manufacture everytime someone lost control of their car in the rain we wouldn't have cars.

Ferb's parting of the car (if any) will be done so after I hear from the owner after he gets word from his INS...

6spdmax-Mr. newb....if you have NOTHING constructive to add, STFU and move on....this is a serious issue at hand--he or his passenger or an uninvolved motorist COULD HAVE DIED!!!

now, please drive thru
