what are your thoughts on polk speakers?

more specifically, the mmc650's and the mm6's?

they'll be running off a JL 300/4

I have owned in the past both EX's and DB's and I think they are pretty solid speakers......the MM are top of the line so you should be content....

I haven't bought anything from polk in many years but I expect the quality to be good.

i had polk ex 2 way coaxes in my old car and thought they were good. now i have cdt components in my car and they are 100x better. its not a fair comparison: coax vs. comps but it gives you an idea.

$5 used garage sale speakers mounted with a little bit of care will sound better than speakers costing thousands without proper consideration for the placement. Worry more about where to put the speakers than what brand to buy.

A friends system with Polk MM 5 and 1/4's up front, and two Orion XTR DVC 10's running all off of Rockford Fosgate Punch Amps (back in 1993/1994) is what got me into car audio in the first place...

Good choice!

To bad the car was a Toyota Tercel....

I have always thought Polks were too tinny. Even MB quart is better than polk in my opinion.

I usually always buy Polk subs cause they have excellent Bass and sound quality. I play my subs at hight volume most of the time and I have never had a Polk sub go out on me.
