BG 44K and Gas Mileage
Your only going to see an increase if carbon buildup is the cause of the problem. In an older car I noticed a pretty sizeable increase in mileage, but in my new cars I tend to take a little better care of them so it's not noticeable. An ounce of prevention.

The car that it rejuvenated was a 89 Hyundai Excel. I tried every fuel additive in the auto stores and the mileage and hesitation/rough idling was very bad. I went to a Toyota dealership and they promised me 1 can of the 44k would totally cure the car. I didn't believe him as I had already been let down by at least 10 products. To my surprise it did cure everything.

What does this magic juice do? Does it clean the throttle body and stop the slight sticking I have in my 2k (52k miles)? Most of the treads in here are saying replace the fuel filter to increase gas mailage. I'm assuming you can pick this up at Advance Auto Parts? How much ?
Replacing the fuel filter in the 5th gen requires taking the gas tank apart. Not an easy job. BG44k does not clean the throttle body, that has to be done with Throttle Body cleaner and a cloth rag. BG44k basically cleans out your entire fuel system including the injectors.
No difference. Car runs smoother, pulls harder, but that's about it.
As hard as it was to keep the rpm's under 3000 rps all the time, I tried driving her easy for a whole tankful, and I got 320 miles, best I've ever done with my 60/40 city/hwy driving. That got lame quick, Im back to driving like a madman, and Im back to 260 miles per tankful.
I don't care anymore about the gas economy, I would have bought a Toyota Prius if I wanted great fuel economy.

Saw your webpage, good stuff, nice clean car. There is a tungsten blue Max around where I live. I have seen maybe two or three in the last couple years. Do you have any idea of build #'s for tungsten blue Max's?
Best procedure, IMHO, is to replace the fuel filter first, THEN use BG44K. That way you eliminate the possibility of dislodging trapped gunk/dirt from the fuel filter and sending it down the fuel line, potentially causing more problems than you're solving.
Fuel filter can only be purchased from the dealer, not from any auto parts chains (not that I know of, anyway). It's only ~$15 from DAVEB though. You also need to buy the rubber O-ring which goes around the lip of the fuel tank. Around $22-23 shipped via UPS ground from DAVEB at South Point Nissan.
BG44K won't touch the throttle body--it's a FUEL SYSTEM additive. Throttle body should be cleaned by hand, using a rag soaked in a solvent such as GUMOUT Air Intake and Throttle Body cleaner. Brake & Parts cleaner should work as well. Basically any solvent used for cleaning carbon is suitable--the products mentioned are acetone-based AFAIK.

I saw one of them in Chicago when I visited there in 2002. I don't know how many were built but I'd say not too many. I'm planning on visiting Chicago this summer but I'm driving my trruck and not the Max. I can't picture the thought of parking her on the mean streets where car thieves roam. My Max gets better mpg than my truck but the truck uses 87 while the Max gets 92-93 octane.

charliekilo3 How big of a tank does the kingcab have. My 02 chevy 1500 is 26 gallons. If you have a large tank like that the next time you use the stuff you might want to think about using 2 cans.
