Dealings with Hlh0501... not good.

I bought a turbo from him. It was supposed to be NEW. It was rebuilt. It leaked oil. I shipped it back and it was rebuilt once. Leaked again. Rebuilt again, still leaked.

In a qoute from this thread... http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....1&page=4&pp=40

hlh0501 "bags533- We have discussed this before. You are well aware I am not sending you an additional turbo. We discussed having yours rebuilt - if you want to do that and don't have their address let me know and I will get it to you. Furthermore, PM and email are more effective means of communication."

So there you have it.

And yeah, I could send it off for a 3rd rebuild. Hal did give me that option. But after 2 rebuilds, let's be serious, I rate the NEW turbo I paid for.

Pic of turbo...

In which it should have been brand new from the start. Some people have a nerve.

More Pics of the USED turbo...

And this is the pool of oil that drained out of the center section. Look at all the little **** in it. I use mobil1 oil and either stp or mobil 1 oil filters.

Whoa. What turbo is that? And it looks like you have alot of shaft play or the turbine ate something. The blades are all bent! Who is doing the rebuilding? Looks like a crap DIY job. Anyway, it looks like you are going to need a new center section now. At this point, I'd get a quotation and email it back to him. Have him agree to pay for a good rebuild and leave it at that. ie.. new centersection, new turbine blade, new seals/bearings, balance job. You send the turbo to the rebuild place and then have the shop bill the Hal's cc or something like that.

If you get a new turbo, good deal. But at this point, I'd accept a GOOD rebuild. IMHO. Do your thing mang!

I bought a New one with my money. T3/T04E.

I am looking into a rebuild to try and get some money back, but the rebuild is gonna be ~$400. SO I would have to sell this turbo for $500 for it to be worth it.

I'll let you know what happens

I think he meant the new T3/T04E you bought, vs the price of rebuilding the one you have...
