Will a carbon fiber hood be better for rock chips?

I just purchased a carbon fiber hood and I travel alot of highway miles. My current hood takes a pretty good beating. I was wondering how the carbon fiber hood will stand up to it.

The least likely to get chipped would be the FiberImages hood. It doesn't use clear coat, and uses epoxy resin. The other hoods I've seen use a thick layer of clear, which is brittle. Some of them also use polyester resin, which when hit, causes spider cracks.
Just depends on who makes your hood.
Whoa...never thought about rock chips...that sucks...

Care to share which processes are used on each brand of CF hood?

My FiberImages hood only had one chip after a year of use. My stock hood has a million chips after 8 years of use. 1 chip per year is alot better than like 125,000 chips per year. Also on the FI hood the chips aren't as noticeable as on the stock hood because my car is black so the light colored metal (or primer or whatever) underneath the black paint made them more conspicuous.

I drive on highways daily. Surprisingly, the cf hood has been holding up fairly well with very little amt of salt/rock chips considering the winter we've just had here in NJ/NY.
