2k2-2k3 6 Speed Shift **** Removal?

A friend of mine gave me his 2003 ACURA TSX 6 speed aluminum shift ****. Two questions; how do i take off the stock one and will this one fit. It is about the same size or a little smaller than stock **** and has screw on base?
