Best Fog bulbs to match 02-03 HIDs

I know I have seen a thread on this before, but cannot locate it.

I want to hear from people who have replaced their Fog bulbs with something that closely matches the look of our HIDs. I believe I have read the Super Plasma H3 by Piaa is it?

I would love to see some pics. And please state your opinion on what you have/like the best and why. I want to replace my (yellowish) OEM bulbs asap.

Any "how to do" this would be much appreciated as well.

Thanks so much!

PIAA SUPER PLASMAs are the EXACT match to OEM 4300k bulbs. Some people will say extreme whites match, but ive had both. Super Plasmas are the way to go.

i understand that you are trying to match your headlights, but in terms of visibility in the fog, you should get crystal ion They'll add a nice luxurious touch to your vehicle.

thats true, ions are MUCH better with visibility, now its your choice, looks or visibility w/ classic look. IONs are nice IMO also, just not as yellow as i want them.

try ebay

i just replaced mine with Sylvania Silverstar H3...they do NOT match the HID color, but they are also very bright and really complement the beam spread well.

Exactly !! I did the same thing, Silverstar H3 fogs, and I'm quite happy w/ results but Super Plasma s/b the "exact" match.

housecor , Thanks for the excellent post and link. Optauto.com was out of stock. I think they were a bit less expensive than the link above, but shipping there made them almost very similar in price ($52.55 w/shipping). I found your instructions too within your page. I printed them out... THANKS!

eBay had very similar prices as above (some were way higher too), but I did not feel secure buying off eBay.

Can't WAIT to install these.

Thanks for all your time and input fellas!

housecor's writeup is very good, it's what i used to replace mine. i had some trouble removing the wire harness so i just skipped that part and was able to do everything using the slack in the wire.

You will love the PIAA Super Plasma fog light bulbs with the OEM HID! It matches the BEST! Give the crystal ion (yellow) a try during the winter time.

As much as people spend on these bulbs every year or so due to burning out, it's be so much better just to save up an extra $100 or so and get the real thing -- HIDs for the fogs. I've learned the hard way

SuperPlasmas are the best match as people have said..

Ive been contemplating what to use in my fogs since I installed my 2k2-2k3 HIDS a few weeks ago. I didnt wanna go with the PIAAs because i dont wanna be paying for a new pair every year. I thought about doing something with the lexus fog light components to get that bright yellow color, but I decided that I dont really like the way it looks, and I also thought about going with an HID kit but Im afraid I will have too much glare. So for now I got ahold of these Wagner LazerBlue bulbs?? for free so I guess Im gonna throw them in at some point and try them out temporarily until i can either find a decent HID kit for a good price or some other alternative.

I wish i had a digital camera my regular camera glares the pictures too much, but the Helios H.I.D. kit 5k is a perfect match, of course the price is a little bit more but its a perfect match. But if your looking for a less expensive route running at 50 every 6 months go with the PIAA

If these PIAA's really only last about a year, why do people recommend them and/or continue to support and purchase them??

If I do not get the life I expect from them, Iwill definately not buy them (any PIAA product) again.

I have 2k SE ,If i buy The blast ( HIDs ) To my OEM headlights and Fog light .It sould work, and i don't have to buy complete set of 2k2,2k3 headlights HIDs .
And is the H4 the same as 9004 for 2k SE.

Don't let the generalizations above deter you. Many on the org run PIAAs and have been running them for well over a year. Also, PIAA warranties their bulbs for 1 year so any comments about a "6 month bulb" are the exception, not the rule.

I just put Sylvania Silverstars in my headlights and have been trying to find fogs to match. I know I should probably purchase Silverstar H3s, but I can't find any in auto parts stores around here, and I'm tenative to purchase anything on the internet anymore because of a few bad experiences.

Yes they do. They have the H3's for fogs. If you're refering to the headlights, they do sell them in the standard 55W, and also 70W if u want, but they dont advertise it on the site, you have to email them. They say they can pretty much make any bulb at any wattage, but will only start mass producing other bulbs if they have enough interest.

I always thought that it would be easier to do it from the top. When I change mine, Im def gonna use this method.
