No dedicated parts maker for the Maxima community...

Over at altimas.net, they have a company called "Strada," which makes all sorts of stuff for the Altimas - mostly body kits and such. They come out with new products on a fairly regular basis, are open to new ideas and feedback, and seem to have a good relationship with the Altima owners that they cater to. How come there are no dedicated companies like this for Maximas? I think it would be great if there were a few, or if there was at least one. Are Altimas more of a good choice for aftermarket parts makers than Maximas? Just wondering...

the maxima has been pushed out as a more "family oriented" car and replaced with a more "tuner friendly" consumer audience that buys the altima.

also, alot of companies have tried to come out with products for the maxima only to be shafted. Many members want quality parts for cheap prices, which is impossible. So the results have been that many true enthusiasts and hardcore maxima owners do many things by themselves or custom/pioneer work. More unwillingness to spend some quality money for quality parts = no companies wanting to make products for the maxima.

I mean, look at the 350z, some parts on that car such as a Carbon Fiber side mirror costs $200, a whole CF door for $7000, a complete underbody CF wind diffuser for $400, a complete bodykit for $1400, etc. Then you have a company that tries to make $50 CF radiator shrouds for the maxima and all he does is get flamed and swamped with stupid questions.

now there are a few companies starting up (not yet on the web) such as TET (Top Element Tuning) that are going to specifically target maximas. However with other companies, I doubt they would choose so simply because of past experiences.

A good example of this would be the "what parts does the maxima community want?" thread where you get stupid ppl asking for turbo kits for $1000.

VERY WELL SAID, Larry...

LeftCoast Tuning has definitely experienced all of that with our $180 CF engine cover and $90 eyelids. Really makes you rethink future products...

I'm trying to setup up a interview with the Nissan USA marketing dept for a entry level position so I hope I know what i'm talking about by then. Need to bang some skulls in there to know what they are thinking.

There are plenty of companies out there that, while they don't specifically specialize in Maximas, do most of their parts for the "Maxima group" of related cars - I30/35, Altima, 350Z / cars with the VQ30/35 that have alot of common parts.

companies like Frankencar, Stillen come to mind, and there are many others. How about NISMO

man, a good example would be the toyomoto SC kit for the IS300. It costs $6995, the stillen kit for the maxima costs $3500. Almost half the amount and yet there are people asking for $1000 turbo kits
