ATX Trannies...

how do you folks with ATX trannies feel about the performance/acceleration of your max? do you feel like it's holding up pretty well?

my previous cars were all MTX, but decided to switch over to ATX for the first time when i got the max due to the abundance of power. this transmission seems to work pretty well in giving as much thrust as you might need depending on how hard you press the gas. i haven't driven a MTX max so luckily i don't know what i'm missing. but everytime i floor this car it brings a smile to my face.

I guess people are not sure what you are really asking. I know I'm unsure. We all agree the VQ35 max is pretty quick with the auto and even faster with the 6 speed. Both trannies have had some trouble with reliability. Some people modify the VB for quicker shifts in the auto and add a tranny cooler for added reliability.

Not sure it that's what you are looking for, but if not just ask again.

that's what i was looking for. more specifically with the ATX though. from some of the stuff i've read here it looks like the MTX is better performing, but also has more quirks as far as smoothness. i haven't seen much related to the ATX trannies.

since there's not a "troubleshooting" section here it's kind of difficult to get any feedback on issues that may be common with the tranny and any tell tale signs to watch out for. thanks anyway...maybe if the FAQ and IMPORTANT threads had this information it'd be easier for us newbs to find.
