did any other 5.5 genners get this letter from nissan

i got this in the mail yesterday
I'm not sure if this is specific to just my dealership but the letter reads:

Brian,
We are selling more used cars than ever before. This has left us with a dire need to place several used quality vehicle such as yours back into our inventory for immediate resale. Your 2002 Maxima has been identifed as meeting our stringent Buy Back criteria. Therefore, as a valued customer, we would like to offer you this incredible opportunity! Come into our showroom within the next two weeks with this letter and we will buy back your vehicle for *$1000 over NADA Loan Value* AND upgrade you to something new and with lower maintenance that fits your budget.

what is NADA loan value and how does it compare to kelley blue book? The only car i can see them "upgrading" me to would have to be a 350z so i'm just gonna keep my fingers crossed and hope they make me a nice offer.

you gotta ask yourself one question...when did any business, especially a car dealership, wanted to save you money or give you a good deal?

All of these guys are 100% right. Go in if you want to become a sucker. Just watch your wallet and take some lube with you.

Yeah, I got a letter like that. They even offered me a chance at some prizes if I would come in. My car selected ... give me a break. Strictly marketing as stated above. I did get a nice test drive of a 2k4 Maxima 6 sp. Nice car, but I like mine better. lol

I got that letter from my local dealership whom I bought my car from. I guess
the max is quite popular here and they wanted me to sell them the blue book
value instead of what I owe on it. They can kiss my a$$ as I love my car.

LOL Your mind is telling you no, but your body is telling you yes. They would love to sell you a 350Z from their lot.

Basically this, if you are a good negotiator, then go. If you think you are a good negotiator, go for a test drive, then go home. If you arent a good negotiator, dont even bother

Definitely a sales maneuver!! If you want to have some fun, make them buy the car back @ $1G above RETAIL value and then tell them you dont want to trade up. I'd be curious about their reaction to that.

seems like they want you to come alone so they can knock you out and sell you in thailand as a *****....

Hey, I got an Idea... If people need used cars.. dealers need used cars to sell to the people... ask if they will pay you the same amount as dealer retail...

I got one too a long time ago. In fact i think i got it twice. I just threw it out because its obvious their intentions are to rip u off. (and to probably fulfill their sales quota)

NADA stands for Nissan of America Domeinthea$$withoutanylube ssociation. I'm sure the NADA value will be much lower than blue book. NADA probably means Nissan Auto Dealer Association or something like that.

In Spanish, nada means nothing. That's what they will give him for his current car.
