I'm a newbie with a '01 SE AE Blk/Blk 5speed and love it. Is there any way to find out how many units Nissan produced of the AE? Then can you find out how many were auto's / 5 speeds? I'm just curious how rare a vehicle it is or if everybody and their grandmother have one.

 

i have heard from a few reliable members the total was 10,000. i could not tell you the ratio of auto to 5spd though. i live in a fairly large city and i have only seen 2 other AE in the close to 3 years that i have had mine.

10,000 is what the literature said. I think they were about 80% automatic. I thought mine was a great car in spite of some problems. If it had had a VQ35 I don't think I would have gotten rid of it, at least not so soon.

Yep 10,000. It will be hard to find the numbers as I do not think they were sequentially produced. As for the manuals, I remember hearing the number was closer to 3%, but who knows.
