People with 20th AE 5spd Max or AE shift *****....?

I bought a 20th AE **** for my 4th gen cus I love the way it looks. N E ways the seller said that the shifter is OEM from Nissan.
I just got it and it looks great but I thought the top part was supped to be brushed aluminum, but this one is plastic. Is my shift **** OEM or a cheap Ebay imitation?
Now I'm afraid the plastic will fade with time, and will look weird.
Here are the PICS

I saw this on EBay as well. I don't want a plastic shift ****. Can anyone confirm what an AE **** is actually made of?

I am happy to inform you that you have made and excellent purchase . I have the exact shifter **** , purchased from courtesy Nissan. The plastic that you are making refference to is actually a clear coat , that is sitting ontop of metal. If you mannage to get it scratched it will come off . The metal will be revealed , but the letters may also come off too! I am going to shoot it with another coat of clear before mine gets bad. Check my home page for the pictures of the ****. It is a direct replacement to my knowledge from 91-02 max 5-speed.
Goodluck and enjoy .
