Can the steering wheel radio controls be added to my Y2K? I noticed that there is a panel on the left side of the steering wheel, opposite side of the cruise control. I didn't know if the wiring harness was there or not, let alone control the radio. JUST CURIOUS........Thanks for the replies in advance...

 

This option for handycap pepole who can't reach the radio in the dash.

 

I had the controls in my TL. I miss it now. I am interested, but I figure if it hasn't been done already it probably can't, at least easily.

 

Dont talk ill of handycap people, we don't insult others on the .org and that also applies to those outside the .org.

You could put the stearing wheel controls in and use a PAC SWI-X (Steering Wheel Radio Control Interface) to control the HU; IF IT IS AFTERMARKET.

 

i tried to do this.
the panel is there but the wiring/harness is not.
you would need to get that to go from HU to steering wheel and the controlor itself

 

why not just buy a aftermarket radio like kenwood or pionner and buy the steering wheel remote
