Has anyone who had the crank sensor recall done noticed that the car seems to shift differently. My tach seems to rise faster, but the 1-2 shift seems slow.

 

i just had mine done today. i have an 03 6-spd, but i honestly don't notice anything different. a rep told me that my trans oil was a little dirty, i didn't know i was supposed to change it at 15k, my car is already at 18k, so that's something i'm taking care of this weekend. are you an auto?...

 

Mine was a definite improvement. Mine shifted much more smoothly than before
and it runs alot smoother.

I have an auto and had this done as well, i haven't noticed any difference at all, the recall procedure only took about a half hour, i bet they didn't even change it.

 

I know they changed my sensors cause the bastids put in a bad sensor and it ran like crap, nearly got hit!

 

I don't get it. I had the dealer check to see if my Max had any outstanding recalls thinking that they would do the sensor recall but they said there were no outstanding recalls. I have an '03 that was built in late 2002. I haven't gotten a letter either.

 

Recalls on some cars not all. Depends on VIN #, different suppliers had sensors made for cars, and Nissan has to check which car got which sensor from which manufacturer. Obviously its not one at a time but by batches, so a few VINs here, then maybe a batch recieved the good ones, and the next batch recieved bad ones.
Same shizz for 350Z Bose Amp Recall, and certain Muranos get crank sensors too, a very handful at most. Sentras 00-03 326,000

If it falls within the range, print the letter and show it to your dealer or find one that will treat you right.

 

I had mine done in January and there was no noticable difference in anything. It drives and shifts just like before I had it done.

 

If you are noticing any differences in your car after the sensor recall, you are experiencing something called the "placebo effect"

Seriously though... These sensors aren't tune-up type parts. They either work, or they don't work. When one of 'em doesn't work, the engine will not run right or not at all. You will not gain or lose HP. Your transmission has nothing to do with it. These sensors did not shoot JFK nor do they have anything to do with the federal deficit.

The only other thing I can think of is perhaps as part of the procedure, they have to reset the ECU. If they need to reset the ECU you will see some differences but those will blend back in a few days of regular driving once the ECU relearns trim values.

Had mine done 2 days ago along with the data dots...i don't notice any change.

 

It must have been from the ECU reset, but the car definately does run different. I could not get it to hit the rev. limiter before and now I can.

 

Do you guys go into to do the recall with all your mods still on? I don't want the bastards to give me any shyt....

 

How can they give you any crap? It's a recall and not warranty work.
