ECU Code 1001 - Front Left Htd 02 sensor heater. I looked in the ECU fault code dignosis FAQ (sticky), but I get denied access when trying to follow the link under code 1001.

So, even though this is probably already posted somewhere, I'm not able to search for it. Can anyone expand on what this fault code is telling me?

O2 sensors have 4 wires: sensor signal, chassis ground, and 2 heater wires: the pos and the neg.
The heater's function is to heat up the sensor so it can work faster while waiting for the exhaust fumes to heat it up. In your case, the ecm is detecting the heater is not working. I bet you will also get another code shortly for other functions of the same o2 sensor. It could be going bad.
