Hey,

I was wondering if anyone knows how i can access my rear speakers in my 99 maxima. I would like to replace the stock speakers with better ones. But i cant access them. I have looked in the trunk, but i see no way to undo the screws. I think i have to throw down the back seats, but i do not see a way to do it.

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

the bottom cushion pops right out

then the back cushion has 4 bolts (10mm?) along the bottom and in the pass-thru. lift the back up, and it will come off of a couple hooks. Now it's just a matter of getting under the cardboard deck to get to the screws holding the speakers in. I couldn't get the deck out without feeling like I would break it or not be able to get it back in, so I just kinda bent it where I needed to get in (it's pretty flexible).

Good luck

Its a pain in the *** to change the rear speakers... You also have to pop off the third brake light.

3rd brake light... depends...

I have an SE-Limited, and it doesn't have a 3rd light in the window. The 3rd is in the spoiler.
