Yes, definitely becasue everyone is doing it. I aspire to be like the Honda boys. No really, I mod because its therapuetic for me. When I get p'ssed off I either go for a drive or go in the garage. For example, I can home from school today and removed my front right wheel and tightened my strut because it was loose. I did this in 20 minutes. Its a way to procrastinate harder stuff like homework. I'm proud of my car especially but I like to help others out as well. I'm starting a little, friendly highschool business to maintain and mod cars. Its even more fun when someone else is spending the money. Haha. I mod because I do.

Because I'm stupid and waste my money

Na, Most of the mods I do I buy for myself as Labor for other work I do. For example I bought the car with a bad tranny and a gear oil soaked clutch, so I upgraded the clutch because I dont like the factory clutch, they are too weak and illresponsive for me. I bought the flywheel for myself as payment for my labor (because I do all the work on my car myself ).

Other things like the suspension I replaced because it needed it, and upgraded it because I wanted better handling characteristics. Performance stuff is to keep me from selling my car

Well, most of the things i do is because i want them there. So mines are basically utility mods so to speak, not neccessary looks or performance.

And some are because certain cars come with them stock and mine don't so i put them on. Yes, my aim is sometimes to add things others come with stock, but to each his own.

I am tired and brain lagged and really i mod because i have nothing better to waste my money on.. oh wait i do and thats why i am still running NA. soon...

I like my Max looking different than the ones around here.

There is no place like NYC when it comes to sheer number of Maximas around. 99% of them know nothing about red clears or even lowering springs. THeres nothing worse than looking around and seeing how many Max's are on 18 inch cheap chrome rims with a huge wheel gap and retards behind the wheel thinking they bling blinging when in reality it looks like they're driving a Murano. And believe me there are ALOT of those. Or my favorite... taking a 95/96 and putting Altezza's on the outer lights and leaving the stock ones on the trunk They have no taste whatsoever.

I like my Max to look unique.

I make money modding other peoples cars it helps pay for my mods, I do car shows, to get attention, to have a very different car than every one eles out there, it's a hobby, and it's a great self esteem builder when you know all of the work is your own...pulling up to a red light or stop sign and getting doulbe and triple looks from passers by and yeah breaking necks..to look ator get a glimpse of the "ride" as it's known around here hahaha...wow I love your car man..I thank them and move on..keeping it in perspective...

I want to make my Maxima which was an OK car stock a good car in all aspects. I don't want it scraping the ground on a crazy body-kit, I want to maintain lots of daily drivability while drastically improving everything. . . Im basically making it into the car I wish it was stock.

I mostly mod because it's fun. I like the anticipation of waiting for performance parts to come in the mail, learning how to install certain parts on to my car, and the overall look for my car. Modding seperates you from the rest of the boring cars out there, this hobby is here to make your car and mine unique from everyone elses.

Its fun waiting for mods to come in the mail. Not to mention, its fun waiting to install them, then when you goto install them, you run into problems. I guess it p!sses me off when things dont go right, but hey, thats more time to have fun installing it I guess. Driving home from the shop with a disconnected ypipe is funny seeing all the people looking over wondering where that loud sound is coming from, then wondering why such a nice and clean car is making such a rusty clanky noise......

I mod the Max for the exact same reason. I had forced induction but sold it for other projects. My goal now is to modify my Max much like Dinnan modifies BMW's with his S2 packages. I want to keep the drivability of the Max, but open it up a little the way Nissan should have.

Performance - Basically for the engine the goal is to open up the intake a little with some porting work, retain a clean and non restricitive cool air supply with a CAI, and keep intake temps down with special coatings. Then top it all off with an ECU that utilzes more of the VQ's potential. On the exhaust side new headers and exhaust that exists out of a clean chrome muffler that retains a nice modest sound.

Appearance - the stock wheels had to go, so I replaced them with 17's that look very similar to the stock SE wheels but these have a polished lip. Red/Clears for a 96 are a must, suspension that gives it a nice clean drop without looking or riding like a slammed car, and little things like chrome gauge rings and CF pillars (to cover the faded door pillars.)

That's why I mod the Max, I am not going over the top because this is my daily driver. If I can make my 96 faster than my 2k2 I will be happy.

The 1st gen DSM is the project car and I mod that to go fast, the Yamaha R6 will remain stock and that is just for fun.

Every car I've owned I've at least put a set of wheels on. Its not a question of why I modify my cars but how much. I do it because its almost like a lifestyle to me. I've been modding cars since 1997 when I got my first Maxima SE. From there it was just a sickness that I can't get rid of. I can't even understand why people would want to drive around in a stock car. Forget getting attention, I mean in a Maxima your not going to get much attention anyhow.

Because Nissan put powerful V6 engine mated to a 5 speed gearbox in a family sedan that handles like crap.

I put other. Ever since I was a kid I was fascinated by cars. My mom said by the time I was 4 I knew pretty much any car that drove on the road. I love cars. Its a hobby and apart of my life. I mod because I like to show/see the potential my car really does have and because it is fun to do. My girlfriend has scrapbooking and go to get-togethers. I mod my car and go to maxima meets.
