3M clear film for chip protection

Anyone know anything about the 3M clear film you can put on the front of your car to protect the paint from chips? Does it change color after a couple of years? Does the edge the film start to become more obvious after a while?

Its really expensive and hard to apply- some high end shops will do it for you but its not cheap and IMO not worth it. . . its just as expensive to get your front repainted 5 years later.

if you do alot of highway driving and your car is a dark color, i'd say GO FOR IT.

I haven't heard any of the 3M clear bra ever discoloring.... just has to be applied professionally.

I've just got the small hood piece. I installed it myself. Cost about $70. Definatly worth it and not hard to install.

Ive got the headlight clear bra stuff on my headlights. Its the xpel stuff, i got it because i bought 2k2 headlights and wanted to keep em lookin like new so i figured it was worth it. I didnt install it tho, my body guy did. Only thing is that its kinda hazy for a few weeks while the water and alcohol solution evaporates.

I have the entire front bumper done with the clear bra. Did it when I first bought my 2k over 3 years ago. To this day there has been no discoloration and you can totally see a difference with the chips. Where it isn't applied on the side of the front bumper there are a ton of rock chips, but where its applied there is nothing. The clear bra itself is hardly noticeable at all after applied. All in all it cost me $250 with installation. I recommend get it professionally done because its a bi1ch to install yourself.

plus, if the shop messes up the install, at least you have some recourse. if you decide to do it yourself, then its your problem. same opinion with tints.
