Y2K muffler is on my 4th gen...

the y2k muffler is on! i actually wanted the infiniti one
that is suppose to produce 5hp more, but just can't find one used.
i almost went for a custom bpipe during the muffler installation,
but decided to keep some back pressure for low end.

with the new muffler, the low end is still there and nothing
has changed. as the rpm climbs during normal cruising speed,
2k-2.5k feels a bit more responsive. from all of the car
review reports, the muffler is suppose to open up the second
channel at 2k rpm. but i felt it more at 2.3k so it's
close enough. i have an auto so that 2-2.5k range
is important since 4th gear accelerates at arround 2.1k.
i only got one chance to gun the car
last night since i was stuck in traffic most of the time.
so on a local street, i was cruising at 10-15mph and
then hit the pedal 3/4 down. wow! the car accelerated
for a second and then made a jump to 5.5k rpm instantly.
the last time i had this kind of pull was with my catback
greddy. but the greddy was a bit stronger due to a
larger and less restrictive bpipe. but the drawbacks
of the greddy were noise and low end compromise. with the
greddy, the 4th gear accelerating from 2.1k rpm was lost.
so if you wants an exhaust for your 4th gen that provides
power throughout the rpm range without noise, go with a y2k
muffler. the three hangers are a direct fit and i didn't
have to cut my bumper. the inlet pipe of the muffler actually
lines up with the stock bpipe, but all you have to do is cut the
bpipe shorter and then re-weld the flange back on. the inlet
pipe of the y2k muffler is much longer than the one on the
4th gen.

putting mine on in about a week or so. Also what other mods do you have in your car ???? I plan on either putting the Courtesy B-pipe or just having the muffler guy just make me a 2.25 or 2.5 inch custom B-pipe made when he installs the 2k muffler.

The 2nd chamber is load related->

so putting the muffler in a different car would probably affect which rpm it will open.

What's wierd is only see exhaust come out of one pipe in the mornings!

I got one too on my 92se. If you don't like the dual chrome tip, let me know and I'll buy it from ya.

Okee, how much and where did you get it? Any pics with the muffler on? I'm really curious as to how it looks with the stock bumper cut out. If it looks right I think that may go on my next mod list instead of CAI.. =)
