Moving up few generations LOL...got a 95 still running strong...but my little bro is kicking *** in it now....

I moved to a bmw 330xi 4 years ago...what a mistake..just sold it...could not by happier )))

so now going back to max...7th gen- what are the models for 7th gen...s and sv only?

Also, should I wait a year and get 8th gen off a lease---dont want to spend the money for new...2016 have S, SV, SR, platinum...thoughts?

If you don't mind the CVT it is a great car. I prefer the looks of the 7th gen to the 8th plus it would be much more affordable.

I'd say the SV Sport with Technology package and optional cold weather package (heated seats/steering wheel) because the ride quality in the premium feels mushy compared to the sport. Plus the 19 inch wheels on the sport package look pretty good versus the 18 inch wheels on the premium package.

Test drive both models if you can on the same day to get a feel for both. Both packages would include the paddle shifters.

Any plans for aftermarket wheels or lowering the car completely negate the sport package. All you have left is the spoiler. You get a lot more with the premium package.

If you can find one, get an SV with premium package. I have a 2010 model and its been great. I recently went over 100k miles and decided to get a price quote to see what it's worth.

Now is the time to buy a used one, since the new 2016's are on sale, my car in Kansas is valued at roughly $13k. Its had a few minor problems, (ipod connection, tilt mirror malfunction, and seat motor failing) but I take care of my cars and drive them hard.

If you like the fold down seat option don't get the full glass roof, otherwise, its the way to go. The newer the better, good luck.
