advice needed: Lowest boost S/C on stock auto; is it safe?

I was considering adding a Stillen Supercharger and run the minimal amount of boost. I was wondering if my tranny (105k) would hold up; it feels strong wven with the milage. I don't plan on upping the boost and changing pullys. Assuming my engine shows good compression; is there anything else I should look out for if I plan to run a rather small amount of boost? Do you think I will break into the 14's with this mild setup on an automatic?

Thanks in advance.

If you keep it at 6psi (stock pulley) and dont beat the hell out of it and drive normal most of the time, the tranny will hold fairly well. But its still only a matter of time before it dies being that it has 100k+ on it already.

You will easily break into 14s. But again, if you going to be going to the track, that means you will be beating on it. You will also without question, without doubt, need a valvebody mod. Without that, you will smoke the tranny in about 1week.

I've driven mine around stock for at least a year as a daily driver. Got my '98 in Aug.'97 and installed the sc in Oct.'00.

when's the last time you took the tranny pan off and flush off the ATF?

how does the tranny pan looks? does it look fuzzy everywhere on the tranny pan? I would also check the filter screen and see if there's a lot of wear. Definitly get a vb and tranny cooler like dixit stated.

I had my tranny drained at 100k and it was rather dirty. I also plan on getting a tranny cooler regardless of boost to help ease wear on my tranny. Thanks for the advice.

It's easy to get boost-happy but 7psi (stock pulley with a custom CAI) would be a nice setup in power and tranny relability.
