bulb questions?

Here's the deal...I have a 2000 I30 and i just love hyper white lights. I changed my headlight bulbs to silverstars, then some 5000k bulbs and they all seem to blow out after a month, now i'm running 7000k bulbs. I installed hyper white bulb for my parking lights (people tell me the I30 looks like a demon with them on) I changed my step lights to white LEDs and i bought hyper white bulbs for the fogs...I need to know what size is that bulb for the map light, and what is the longest lasting HID-like 9006 bulb?

He said 'hid-like', and the Catz kit can be had for far less than $750. I believe the 2000 models had 9005/9006 bulbs, not an H4 setup, so the HID kit would not need to be dual, and a McCulloch HId would set you back $300 if you wanted the real thing. Hyper-White is a thing of the past, real HID blows them away. As for the 'demon', thats why I installed the inverse leds myself.

$300? not bad. I seen a few HID kits on ebay for about that price, thanks. What's the difference between 6000k, 8500k, and 10000k? i have noticed that some HID's give a rainbow-purpleish color and some give a white-blueish color. How do you know what appeal the HID will give out?
