For a 5th gen with 17" rims, the 245/40/18 should be almost dead on for total wheel height. That size will also help protect your rims. I think your wheels must be at least 8" wide to support the 245 width. I don't know about rubbing with the 245 tire and a 35 offset since your wheel will stick out a little more than OEM and might hit the fender? I am determing which 245/40 tire to buy for my rims right now.

 

18x8 with 35 offset..245/40 is good but i think that you'll scrape the fender every now and then

im running 235/45/17 and i scrape the rear right

 

I would go w/ 235s
