this aggrivates me.. the car has alot of *****. my bro has a 03 acura cl type s automatic. on the cl-s forums, someone said they got beat by an 04 maxima. and ofcourse alot of people say that the guy in the cl-s cant drive because he lost to the 04 max.. it just annoys me. my bro ran a 14.4 with his auto cl-s with just intake. my max and his cl-s are an evan race. 50 50 who wins.. the max pulls more after 80 mph.. and do u guys think the 05 altima ser is gonna be faster than the maxima????

Bench racing wins you no trophies. You may notice "comparison posts" are frowned on here ... it's just so pointless to argue about "mine is faster than yours".

I'd just say enjoy your car and don't worry about people who talk it down. Chances are they're just jealous (I mean, after all, an Acura CL? )

Who really cares if other people think the 04 Max is slow? Let them think it's slow. That will just make it that much more fun to beat them when the opportunity presents itself. Little do they know that two people have run 14.4's in stock autos and one even managed a 14.2. Nor do they know that the engine is most likely very under-rated.

The 05 Alty 3.5SE now has the 5spd auto tranny also. I still bet it's using the "gen 2.5" VQ35 engine with 240hp/265tq, but it should be able to pull mid-14's pretty consistently now and would probably edge out a 5.5g Maxima auto slightly. Only time will tell. As for the Alty SE-R, the NissanNews press release mentioned "modular cylinder head". If they put the 350z heads in, that would make it a "gen 3" VQ35DE (280hp/270tq) and it should freakin haul. It's 200 lb lighter than the Maxima, but it'll still be FWD, and the press release didn't say anything about an HLSD which is disappointing.

The Altima SE-R is now Nissan's "4DSC". The Maxima is the more "mature" and upscale/classy car for people who want a refined car that will haul but aren't really the racey types.

oh man....so this is what the forums have become here lately......
just to make you feel special...go on the cl-s forum and search for the thread where a guy got "raped" (were his exact words) by a 4th gen max ....

but if those were the kind of things that aggrivated me in this world.....i'd be a very happy man....
don't you have other things to worry about?
