My max is fast??????????

I cant get over the fact that my stock maxima w/steelees is beating these moded max's in my area. They did not believe I had a 15.7 completely stock at the track. I thought that I need to do better than that. That is what I am shooting for when I go back to the track. I have a Ingen CAI, Denso plugs, brand new fuel filter, and gear oil. Hope I get better time.

Well what was your breakdown of your 1/4mile run?

If you run identical as far as shifting, 60fts, i could see you dropping a max of like .2's and thats pushing it...

If you have a 5spd a 15.7 is a pretty poor time. 15.6 was the slowest I have ever ran and that was on 100k mi tires and the first time I ever ran the 1/4. In good tune, I would expect 15.1-15.4.

Just curious on this one, what is wrong with the stock NGK plugs? Oh, and my car has gear oil too

It makes a huge difference as to your tire pressure and what kind of tires you are running as well as your engine. However as compared to my track times, you have a 60' that should be somewhere in the 15.4s. Your 1/8 is .2 seconds slower then that 15.4 run. But again, a "normal" driver is going to see that much fluxuation in times from run to run even if your set up is the same each run. Best of luck and have fun at the track!

btw, it takes more then just one weekend do produce good times. You need to play with your shift points, your launches and what not. Even letting your car idle and then cool will make a big difference (think of the abuse you are putting on just your clutch and the heat soak through the whole engine bay). Go everyweekend for a few months and you will have a much better idea of what your car is capable of.

Yeah, I got a 15.5 on my first run ever in my bone stock 99 5-spd SEL. On my second and final run ever I got a 15.3. I am positive that with practice and a few more runs I would've nailed high 14's.

Can you believe that though? My first and only time at a 1/4 mile track and I get 2 runs in a 4-hour period! GRRRRRRRRRR

I paid $25 and felt ripped off!
