I have a friend with a '96 GXE with 111k miles on it. I took a look at it today and it took about 3-4 times to get it started and when it did start it stumbled for a little bit and then ran fine. Also I noticed that while idling, the tach jumps up and down about 200-300 RPM's. The engine idles at a constant speed but the needle moves up and down.

Would this be the crank position sensor? I thought I remembered reading that some time ago but I couldn't remember. If that's not it, any ideas. Thanks.
