need recommendations for brake pads

ok so I just had my brakes changed out about 2 months ago.. well when I'm going slow and I apply my brakes they squeal a good bit... i'm really getting tired of it, and I'm going to just change the front pads (the noise makers).....

anyone have recommendations? I don't race my car, just normal every day driving.

i've heard raybestos quiet stops are good...

That is what I have heard also. I ordered some of them and I will be putting them on when these I have wear out, if they ever do.

Right now, I have EBC GreenStuff on there. They don't squeal, and they stop good and last good too. They are a little pricey, and they dust a good but, but they are good pads.

Why not go factory? Heck, they're 30% off list with no tax and free shipping. I've installed them around all 4's without the new hardware kit, ie no shims, and they have never squealed once. Factory lasts a long time and is kind to the rotors.

I have Raybestos QS in mine all around.

Little to no dust and no squeeling. I've put on about 8k on them, and they are still strong.

Raybestos are good... I've had the red ones, I guess they're the Quiet Stops, I really dont know. I also had Bendix, they were really good too. Not a squeak and not much dusting. Right now I have some Auto Specialty ones, their top of the line pads... I'm really thinking of going back to Bendix... they dust too damn much.

Higher performance pads usually dust more than regulars.

Not always, cheap pads tend to dust alot too. My favorite is when you slam on the brakes hard enough that you smell the pads burning.

Thats funny b/c my nick name is Johnny Smoke Brake..... I actually had the rear brakes smoking.

I'm in the process of buying new pads too. I was tring to get Raybestos QS today but no one local has them. My dad's running VGX silent silver pads all around and they bite way harder then my OE pads so I like them. Bendix is also a great brand.

I have being using the Hawk HPS pads for several months now. I probably have over 9k miles on them. I have them paired up with PowerSlot slotted rotors. They have better stopping power than the OEM brake pads, and are more resistant to fading. They dust quite a bit more than stock brakes, but I think the trade off between getting better braking performance for some more dust is an acceptable one. The dust is not an issue if you wash your car regularly. I get a little bit of noise, here and there(slight squeal), but it is pretty infrequent. I am very happy with this setup.
