whats the best shop manual to get?

whats the best shop manual to get?

ive neer worked on my car before and I want to do so now....whats the besy shop manual to get? I need to change my brake pads, clean the throttle body and egr tubes and possibly replace the egr valve....also should probably clean the IACV valve and change manual gear oil to redline. instructions would be appreciated if these things are not in the shop manual...thanks!

For those things you don't really need a manual. But haynes and chilton are the cheap ones and the FSM is the best one.

Yep, I bought the Hayes and it is good for general maintance. Also look for web sites for how-tos on specific work.

SOmetimes they have new/used ones on ebay. If not, your local dealer, parts depo should be able to order you one.

I think the FSM may assume a certain level of mechanical competance--I'd say go with hayne's (That's what I got).

yea the ebay ones are preatry good and have alot of stuff...u can get them for like 20 bucks and they have alot more info than haynes and all that

The haynes and chilton are lamer and lamer the more I use them. No torque specs, the important stuff, for most if not all things. FSM on ebay for like $80-100.
