Door latch mechanism is stuck... HELP!

Hi,

This morning I opened my drivers side door, jumped in and shut my door and found that my door latch wasn't holding my door shut. So I got out and inspected the mechanism to find that every thing looked okay. After a couple trys at shutting the door but not having it work I picked up a stick and started moving the mechanism up and down until finally I had it pivoted downward so that the door cannot be shut at all. Well after getting it in the shut position but with the door still open I tried locking the door, now I'm stuck with the door locked and can't unlock it and am unable to move the mechanism at all.

Any one have any tips on how to solve this problem?

Thanks... help please!
Jason

I did this just last month with my '02 SE-R. At first I didn't know what to do either, but then I tried the FOB and pressed the door unlock button. That did the trick to unlock the mechanism.

I hope it works for you too.

Peace.

you might wanna try to lube the doors with grease.

Thanks guys, but my sister in law figured it out for me while I was at work. She said she figured it out in two seconds and that all she needed to do was press the unlock button on the door and move the mechanism back into position. My only excuse for not being able to figure it out was I was frantically trying to get to work on time and didn't have time to mess with it.
