brembo sport slotted rotors or Xdrilled/slotted?
brembo sport slotted rotors or Xdrilled/slotted?
i know this has come up a bunch of times.. but its almost time to replace my rotors.. now i have 2 choices..
1. brembo sport slotted rotors <--- this means that brembo did the slotting then packaged it.. $150
2. brembo core with slots and drilled <--- youve seen it on ebay.. brembo cores are used and then the slots and drilled holes are done at a machine shop.. $130-$150
which is better? slot only or drilled/slotted? brembo made or brembo core?
such a hard decision.. hmm..

drilled is not great unless you go to the track. They wear out pads faster. Any slots, holes, or dimples that are intended for cooling also wear out the pads faster and weaken the structure of the rotor, and while they allow them to cool faster (reducing chances of warping), they are more likely to crack.
General forum has a whole discussion on this in the last week. Read back a few days for more info.
As between brembo blanks being done by an outside shop versus brembo-customized rotors, it is no different if the work was done by a good shop.
