tire/rim swap?

A friend of mine totaled his 2000 max se so hes selling whats left as parts. Will his stock 17'' rims AND tires fit onto my 1998 max gle without any modifications (meaning I can just pop mine off and slap his onto my car)?
Thanks

Oops, I forgot. If you have stock wheels on your car now, be prepared for your car to be slower. The G5 wheels are larger diameter and heavier so there is more rotational mass for the engine to overcome. They look great though.

A quick followup, are the stocks on the 2000 Max SE 16'' or 17''?

So the larger size tire/rim will fit into the 98's wheel well w/ no probs?
