Anyone that has had their max painted...pop in...>
Ok...here's the deal now...my car is going ot be painted...originally I was gonna do it myself...to use as a learning experience...unfortunately, I don't have the time nor all the tools to accomplish this...so I've put my plans to learn about painting cars aside for some time. Now my question is should I remove the bumper off the car before they paint? (it is a different color than the chassis) I am removing the body kit for them to paint off the car, as well as the spoiler and the side moldings...I'm just curious as to what you all would do or have done!
Thanks,

Is it a color change? If so, take both bumpers and all the lights out. Take all the door panels out and the door sills out. Take the rear seats out. Take the front seat out if you can. Paint the bumpers off the car. Body shop tends to break interior parts.

I was wondering how much you expect to pay for the paint job and what type of prep the body shop includes with that price.
Reason for asking is that my son wants to take our burgundy 91 SE and have it repainted dark blue and I am guessing that it will cost us $2,500+ to have it come out right.
Thanks!!

If all that is done, and all a shop has to do is either prime/seal then coat a car...it can be significantly cheaper....especially if there is no color change. It also depends on what kind of paint job you want...single stage/2 stage/ 3 stage.
Hope that helps
