the low beam doesn't work on one of my head lights, but the high beam does. I'm guessing these bulbs are dual filament ones since 1 bulb handles both jobs. So does this mean I just need to replace the bulb? If so, what are some better than stock bulb that give white light instead of yellowish light? thanks

 

i'm happy with my phillips blue visions. whiter than stock, ~$12 each at kmart, etc.

btw, it's definately gotta be your bulb. happened to me before and that's what it was exactly.

 

Don't buy any e-bay hyper white bulbs, they all suck and last under 1 year. If you want bulbs in the $10-20 try Phillips blue vision, Sylvania Cool Blues or Sylvania silverstar (these are better than the fore mentioned bulbs. For expencive bulbs that will the life of your car and longer, get PIAA Xtreme White Plus, at $69.99 for 2, your gonna pay more, but you get a much better product. I've tried prolly every lightbulb out there and I have found PIAA to be the best. Brighter than most 45/65 watt bulbs in lumens, you see better also. With white lights, you loose some of you bad weather visibility though. Make sense? I hope so I've had a few

 

whatever you do stay away from silvania silverstars....one of my low beams went out so i bought them and i loved them at first....then it rained and i couldnt see more than 5 feet in front of me....they are terrible in bad weather and its been about 3 months and they are already loosing their intense whitness they once had....bad choice that i deeply regret

 

turns out its not the bulb. bought some new ones and they do the same thing. only get high beam and no low. what does that mean?

 

did this problem get resolved? i have the same problem. its not the bulb, and its not the fuses. low beam on driver side doesn't work, high beam works. i exchanged bulbs and fuses, and the same side low beam doesn't work.

 

youve got a short in the wire, or your relay is busted.
im not to sure how to deal with that kinda of problem since power wires are not my thing, but maybe somebody else can jump in.

Do you have a multimeter that would allow you to measure the voltages at the socket? That would be good to try. If it's not getting any voltage, and the fuses are fine (there are separate fuses for left and right headlights, did you check both?) then it might be an issue with the wiring, or with the stalk on the steering column, or with the relays.

HandsonMaxima. and I are trying to troubleshoot Moid's problem, which was posted at 9:36pm yesterday. He bumped the old thread back from the dead because the issue was never resolved, and he's having the same problem that the OP had. Rather than starting a brand new thread "durrrrr I don't know how to open the hood of my car", he ed and found a relevant thread on the subject and posted in it, hoping that he might be able to get some help. That is commendable. No need for additional posts which only point out the datestamp on the OP and do not answer the question or provide troubleshooting advice.
