I paid just under $600 installed for the full kit - included hood, bumper, headlights, turning lamps, small quarter-panel piece and mirrors. Excellent product - well worth the money IMHO.

3M Clear Bra

Can anyone help 'splain what the "3M clear bra" stuff is? how does it go on? does it fade?
Sounds like it is better than the usual type bra.
Thanks for any help about this. I just took delivery on my Winter Frost SL and am looking for something to protect the front.

how does this stuff work? like when you wash and wax your car, do you skip waximg/polishing these sections? It seems strange, I guess I need to see pics.

Thats a lot of money. Wouldn't it just be cheaper to get maybe just the hood protected and have the bumper repainted occasionally (ie every couple years)?

Frequently Asked Questions: 3M Scotchgard™ Paint Protection Film

I found an installer via Xpel.com including labor $750 (all frontal protection including lights, mirrors, and rear bumper).

No way! Paint is much more expensive. Just to get the air dam repainted on my 2000 Celica (it was covered w/ chips) would have cost around $800.

That's why I also opted the REAR bumper piece besides all frontal protection, but I don't work in the city.

I just bought the full kit from this company. I will do the install myself. It doesn't look to difficult. They have an installation video on the site as well. I called a professional installer and he told me it would be about 250-300 in labor. "Forget that".

I'll let you know how it went. I guess I could take pictures too, but that might be a waste since it is invisible

I've had my back bumper AND rear quarter panel repainted twice on my last car due to some dents and scratches. The first time was $250, second time $270. It would have been less but I had them completely remove the bumper so it could be painted better and the fitting readjusted when it was put back on.

I can't believe that just the bumper would cost you $800. Thats insane.

Anyways...from my position, to get the front bumper repainted it should be about the same amount, $250-270. Which is why I would say it would be cheaper to get the bumper repainted vs. buying the 3M product.

Scott_401: trust me you don't want to install the full kit yourself, the hood kit may look "easy", but the compound curves of the lower/upper bumper kit are too difficult.

And it's worth to pay the professional who had training that you also get the warranty in labor and full kit.

Besides, you don't want to mess up your whole full kit.

Funny you say that; I was talking with my father about it tonight and before I could even finish talking about doing it myself, he cut me off and said to have a professional do it. So that was pretty much enough for me. Thanks for the extra vote to have someone else do it.

I need to add that you get the 4 to 5 years warranty and labor to have a professional do it.
