havin a error 1008 (EVAP purge control) will affect my 1/4?

Ok, Today I'm going to the track to test my car (my first time)
and I have a EVAP error code light, that is the only error I have.
will that affect my time, and if yes by how much?

what other codes will affect HP?

1 Knock Sensor
2 O2 sensors
3 Spark Plugs (if not the correct one, copper, tips....)

4 WHAT ELSE???????

Thanks

The EVAP code won't cause any loss. All purge control valve does is dump the gasoline fumes from the tank through a charcoal canister which then vents to the atmosphere. The code is telling you that the solenoid valve is probably seized. Simply remove the assembly (underneath the driver's side rear bumper) and spray some WD-40 in the valve. Buy a Chiltons Shop Manual ($18) and it will show you in greater detail what I'm taking about.

The knock sensor can supposedly cause a loss of 15fwhp or so because the ignition pulled back because the bad sensor is giving the ECU false knock.

O2 sensors won't cause a power loss in the 1/4 mile either because once you're at WOT or above ~3500rpms, the ECU pays no attention to the O2 sensors. Keep in mind that a bad O2 sensor can trip the CEL light and also trip a false knock sensor code. If you get an 02 sensor code along with the knock sensor code, only replace the 02 sensor. The knock sensor is fine. If the knock sensor goes bad, it will throw it's code by itself and without any 02 sensor codes.

Spark plugs should be fine assuming they're NGKs (copper or plat), properly gapped (~0.040-0.044), and torqued (~20ft/lbs).
