Do you have a favorite kill?

I was wondering if you all have a favorite race that you won, or even almost won even though you were a big time underdog. Tell about it! If your initials are Ceasars Chariot maybe you can link to the video of it!

Personally, it hasnt worked out so that I can do the 1/4 but I definately have a few memories of track passes that are in my "top 5".

What kind of cars/drivers that you raced did you most enjoy?

My favorite run ever is when by sheer chance, I got stuck running my friend Chris in his Magnacharged Z06. He fell asleep at the light, and he was treed by the Max. His r/t was 1.1x, and I cut a .55x.

I can hear him struggling for traction, tires screaming. A second later I hear the intoxicating blower whine at my door. A half second later he is jetting right by me, and I can hear the melodius note of the LS6 V8.

I will put it to you this way, his #'s was on the screen a full 4 SECONDS before I crossed the finish line.

I did manage once to beat a 95 Novi 347 Mustang. He pulled me severely out of the hole, and was well on his way with a 1.8xx 60'. Halfway down the track, one of his belts comes loose, so he shuts down. He coasts through for a 16.0 with a trap speed much higher than a 16.0 car should ever do.

i guess mine has to be the 2003 Mustang GT. I asked the guy is it stock and he says yes , that he hasnt had it long. so i ask," hey our cars are pretty close then, you want to run them ?" he says ok.

i didnt expect to win and it can be argued that he wasnt the best driver in the world but thats why bad drivers get fast cars right ? it kinda evens things up. lol

anyways, after the run (chariot wins it) he says he wants another try and so we have a best of three in which i took in a sweep 3-0 and got it on video ! lol ! not bad for a car with 150,000 miles on it.

another race that comes to mind was against this guys new dodge neon srt-4. the track had gotten slick or something and people were having troubling hooking up which made for a crazy race.

we launched the cars spinning and rpms jumping around, and off we went. as things settled down i noticed we were side by side . he might ease up on me and then i would pull a bit on his car. it was real close and i have no idea how the chariot pulled off the win but i beat my first neon srt-4 by a nose. the only downside to that was i ran a 14.4 something in that race and was kicking myself. if i would have ran a 14.2 it would have been an old fashion thrashing ! lol ! but i will still take the win !

I don't seem to have good luck as to who I line up agianst at the track. It's seems to be either a 16 sec car or a 10 sec car.

I do remeber going against this kid with a moded all wheel drive 2.5 N/A subaru. We were at the front of the line when there was a break down. We had to wait for a while they cleared the track. It was obvious we were going to go against each other and he was looking at my car with a sh!ty grinn on his face. I get that alot at the track. He kinda shook his head and laughed to himself as we got ready to go. He rapped me out of the hole with his all wheel drive and pulled a 1.9 or so 60'. But it did not take long before I was passing him like he was standing still. I looked over at him and kinda noded. It's really funny to be passing a car going down the track and having them look over at you like WTF. This was before I was running real fast times and put up a 14.6 to his mid 15 sec time. He went and parked his car and did not run it again that day.

Me and Bejay1 had a good run at it once. I got the win but it was by less than .1. There is vid of it somewhere.

Thats a great story! Big smile from reading it
Him parking it and leaving it sounds to me like the equivalent of going home with the tail between the legs

Ceasar, I saw that mustang vid and it was great stuff! I sure cant wait to be (hopefully) representing the 4th gen at the strip like y'all are!

what mike says is very true, unless you get out on foot and make some offers, the good/close races are hard to come by. my favorite of all times would have been the 300zx twin turbo i raced last time out at the track. i ran a 14.3 to his 14.4 but his reaction time was so terrible that i slaughtered the guy by half the 1/4 mile strip .. lol ! and that really took away from the victory ! i have gotten spoiled now and try to move my car all over the place to stay away from the 12 and under club, and the crap load of trucks that flood the tracks around here.

no joke, i have raced more 15+ second trucks that you could imagine.

I don't have any single favorite kill at the track, but I do enjoy beating LT1/LS1 F-Bodies and any 5.0/4.6 Mustangs. Granted most of these cars should be quicker than me, but a lot of times I outdrive the other driver. Sometimes I outreact them and sometimes I out 60' them or both. My favorites though are when I beat a 5.0/4.6 Stang or LT1 F-Body legitimently (ie similar 60' and RT).

I haven't run the 1/4 a lot, like 8 passes under my belt. But so far, my favorite has to be a newer V6 Accord. 2 kids in it with what looked like an Apex Dunk exhaust with some Motegi rims, MR7 or 6's. Anyways, I blew him off the line and pulled away from that point on. It was nice looking back at his car while I was turning off the 1/4 lane. I ran a 15.8 or so and he ran a 17.3 . I guess you could call it revenge against Honda.....I had a Civic. Nuff' said.

98 Mustang GT was fun, but even funner was a 2001 Honda Accord Coupe that every NA mod known to man. This one was only funner because the kid that drives thinks hes the man around town and all his friends do to. He also talks up his car non stop. It was fun to shut him up. Now he keeps quiet.

Killed the same late 90's, slightly moded Z28 3 different times today. He was running mid 14's at 97 and I was running low 14's at 99. I don't think he like it too much.

I've had some good races in Las Vegas. I lined up next to an F350 dually truck. I think, haha, this one is going down unless he's a souped up turbo diesel. We get to the staging lanes and he purges 30 feet in the air. OH CRAP!

We line up and I have him beat by one car length by the 1/8 mile. I knew he was spraying, so I knew he was going to pass me when I shift into my stupid low part of 3rd gear. Sure enough, he beats me by a half car length. I give him a thumbs up and the mid 50 year old man smiled and waved back. I was in my same track mode as when I ran the 14.5s at sea level. But I ran 15.3s that night in Vegas... stupid altitude!

Very next race, I get lined up next to a ricer Integra. Like a 1996 body style. I hear him idling next to me before we come around the tower to stage. WEEEEEEEEEEE! I'm like OH crap, this ricer is turbo'd. I don't stand a chance.

We line them up. He spins off the line, I get him on the tree and I have him beat by 2 cars at the 1/8 mile mark. I look over my shoulder at that point and sure enough, he pulls on me in my stupid 3rd gear. He beats me by 1 car length.

In the pits, he walks up to me and says.. DUDE, your car is quick. Are you squeezing? I said.. nope. He said, is it a 5spd? I said, nope. He said, is it built, like cams and stuff? I said, nope! He was blown away that he almost got beat by an all motor automatic granny mobile.

I found out he had 10psi on a stock LS motor. b18b i think it is. It still should of raped me, but oh well. He got a 2.4 60' foot, so it's not like it wasn't terribly bad.

I've had many other races at the track. Oh yeah! A modded 5.0 stang that's gutted to 2600 lbs. Intake, exhaust, pulleys, very good street tires. He runs a 14.0 @ 99mph on street tires that day. So we line them up. I had him beat by the 1/8 mile, but sure enough, he pulls on me in my stupid 3rd gear and he runs 14.3 to my 14.6. And I treed him pretty bad. .550 to .800 or so

Then he let Dmontzsta drive his Stang. I knew he was going to spin. He did and I beat him with a 14.6 to his 14.8.

This was the same day I ran the 14.57. Thanks for reading.

back in the day (1998) I had a 90 Max SE auto stock and raced a guy from school who had a 95 mustang w/ the 5.0 typical flowmasters, K&N, and chip oh yeah and 5 spd. Everyone in school thought it was the shizt and so did the owner. well we raced from a traffic light and i had him by a car length until like 80mph then we slowed down. We pulled in the gas station and he told me to pop the hood, he thought i had a turbo. I told him that Maximas were just fast four doors. It was awesome.

my favorite runs are against cars that actually give me some competition, or that I'm afraid of losing to, which would ruin my reputation... :P My best run ever was against a 350z, video http://www.clanh2k.net/~frosty/frostyvs350z.wmvhere where I ran a 13.275 @ 110.64, but I always enjoy racing ceasar and completely botching my launch so that I get like a 2.6 60' and letting him think he's gonna win because he puts 2 car lengths on me, then I proceed to fly past him like he's standing still... But seriously, I like racing cars that are faster than me because for some reason I do better, probably because I try harder.

frosty your launch against the 350z goes down in the hall of fame records ! that launch and 350 kill plus 13.2 = best kill/best race ever.

if i get turbo we will see who shames who ? lol

Mine would have to be a 96-97 5spd Mustang GT, and an older 5.0 with I/H/E. Those races are fun.

hmm lets see:

95-97 Mustang GT 5speed
02 VW gti 1.8t 5speed (clutch)
03 Benz E320

Best Kill: new Rx-8

The RX-8 was first in the left lane at a red light, me right behind him. The light turns green and he takes off slow then guns it half way through 1st, so do I. I bang 2nd and he knows I'm pacing him so he switches to the right lane, both of us still wot. I reach his bumper by 3rd gear and by the end of 3rd we're neck and neck. I bang 4rth and continue to pull. By around 110 I have a car on him and shut down. Awsome adrenaline rush!! He even started ahead of me. haha. thats sad.
