Upper Oil Pan Gasket???????????

i noticed that i have a small oil leak, when i leave my car parked i can see a small puddle of oil. when i first took a look at it it looked like the leak was coming from the oil pressue sensor. so i said "ok" thats not bad, and i got that replaced.
but after that i notice it was still a small leak dripping down. so the second time i checked it i figured maybe i didnt tighten it up enough, so i did that. then i cleaned up the area a watched to see i it still leaked. now from what i see there is a drip coming from the upper oilpan gasket. the upper gasket looks like is connected to the engine block, is that true?????

can someone let me know whats up?

yes its connected to the block u will need 2 gaskets from the dealer they are like $30 for both u will have to take out your ypipe then u can remove the upper pan if the smaller oil pan is not leaking dont open it otherwise u will have to put a silicon gasket on it hope this helps

I have the exact same problem. Is there a write up on how to do this? I just called a shop and they want 400 bucks to do this job. I would like to get this taken care of this weekend since it is not suposed to be freezing cold. Thanks for any advice.

well i dont believe there is a write up on how to do it on the org. but a job like that is pretty involved so you gota know what your doing to get the job done. it is very possible to do in your back yard with all the proper tools and a few jack stands. i almost got mine done and i got all the engine mount down and getting ready to un bolt the oil pan. then un fortunately a bolt broke on me and i didnt have a torch to help loosen it up to get it out so i'll wait to next spring before i get under the max again

I had the same probleme. I replaced the upper and lower gasket by the dealer but the leak wasn't fix. I changed the upper oil pan and replaced again both gasket but it wasn't fix again. Three weeks later I broke the motor on highway because I was shooting nitrous for a too long period. When I took off the motor I saw that it was a litle failure on the motor near of the transmission support. It was juste 1 inch upper of the upper oil pan. I hope for you thats not gonna be the same thing. Now I have a motor of 25 000 miles on it and no problems ... same with my 75 shot zex

I think you are talking about the other side of the motor than what we are. I am talking about right below the power steering pump. It sounds like you are talking about the tranny side.
