help! anyone know why this happened?

I was driving on the fwy this morning, and when i accelerated, my RPM just went crazy to like 5-6000, and then the engine just shut off. So I coasted to the shoulder, got it started again, and made it to work, BUT, all the while the car won't go higher than 2,500 RPM. once it hits around 2,500 it stops going higher. Then, when i tried to start it again to take it to the dealer, the engine will start, whine a few times, and then shut off. Anyone has had this problem? or know's why? thanks!

If your car reved to 6K then your drive by wire went nuts on you. You should get your dealer to replace the TB for you. Your car could accelerate and cause an accidnet. Had you gotten into an accident then Nissan would be responsible for it.
