Ebrake handle removal

Could someone give me a quik step by step on taking off my Ebrake handle, i got a new one but cant get the original off, thanks a lot.

pull the handle all the way up and take a hammer and tap on the end up and it will just slide off..

i heated mine up with a blowdryer and put a screw driver between the handle and the metal parts and kinda dug it off. after heating it for awhile it will slide off, but it is still difficult to get it off.
