ACTRON OBDII Scanner On-Sale

Pep Boys has the Actron OBDII scanner on sale. Regular $149.99, sale price $129.99, plus an additional $30.01 off making total price $99.98. I picked one up, can't beat that price.

Goes to show you about Nissan's reliability on the Maxima. You bought a code scanner for your own use, expecting it will be worth the $100. It probably will too.

I've had to take my Max in for service 3 times and I've only had it for 5 months. Of the three cars I had before this one, I only had to take them in a total of 1 time for all three. But the Maxima is worth it, at least I keep telling myself that.

Well, I have had some issues with O2 sensors throwing codes since the install of the Hotshot Headers. I do all the work on my cars myself, and it is a plus to be able to pull and clear codes in my garage rather than making a special trip to Autozone. If you go to the Stealer, they will charge you $85 just to diagnose. Other than problems with upgrades throwing codes, I haven't thrown one.

If you think you can own a car and never have a code to read, then you are mistaken. Be it Nissan, Honda, Toyota, Mercedes or BMW, they will all throw codes eventually. Having the code scanner is a convenience. Saves a trip to Autozone and/or your mechanic.

Sounds like you should avoid used cars.

Hey man thanks for the tip. I ran out and bought one myself. I have been shopping for one for a while now. I wanted to get the laptop type because they do so much more than just pull codes. But I like the stand alone unit because I can toss it in my trunk and it is always ready. I can always borrow the laptop version from my buddy.

Oh, and talking about reliability, I will be using this thing on my GFs Oldsmobile a lot more than I will be on my Nissan, I can guarantee! hahaha
