I had taken my car to a dealer a couple weeks ago to have it inspected. Well they told me I needed my AT fluid and my powersteering fluid (80,000 miles on my car) flushed and changed. they wanted $250 to do both of them. Needless to say I didn't have the funds for that especially after I plunked down $400+for my brakes and rotors. I called some places around my school and my friend told me she has been taking her car to this shop for 10 years. i went to the shop this morning and got everything done for $70. what a difference in price. another example of a dealer ripoff (like we need more examples anyways )

 

the dealer was most likely quoting a flush of the tranny while the other shop did a drain and refill. a tranny flush run anywhere from 79-149 in my area while drain and refills which remove a little less than half of the tranny fluid run around 40-50 bucks. if you got a flush on both for that price then you got a great deal.
