I'm not sure about how this would work with your fuel system. This is set up for a return fuel system were your 2003 has a returnless fuel set up. My understanding is the FPR is in the tank, but how that relates to putting in a bigger fuel pump i'm not sure. People have upgraded their pumps in the 02-03 with the walbro's but i don't know of anyone doing it with the 300ztt pump. I don't know if the harness connections would be the same.
To answer your question, yes you need an upgraded fuel pump to be able to safely run a 100 shot. However, i don't know how this fuel pump would apply to your application. You would need to ask some of the guys that have upgraded the pumps in their 02-03's cause i'm not sure on the fit.
